Choose Wisely: How to Select the Right QDX Pump for Your Water Source

For household water supply and small-scale irrigation, QDX submersible pumps are a popular and practical choice. However, different water sources such as shallow wells, clean rivers, and ponds require tailored solutions. Selecting the right QDX pump for your specific water source ensures efficiency, durability, and long-term performance.

In this guide, well explore how to choose the perfect QDX pump based on your water source and usage needs.

1. Shallow Wells: Prioritizing Lift and Stability

QDX pumps are ideal for shallow wells due to their moderate lift capacity (up to 34m). However, when the water depth is too great, performance drops significantly, and a deep well pump is more suitable.

What to Consider:

Max Head (Lift Height):

Works best in shallow wells less than 30m deep.

Flow Rate:

Be aware that as lift height increases, flow rate decreases.

Corrosion Resistance:

Well water may contain minerals that corrode metal parts; anti-corrosion materials are essential.

Recommended Features:

Moderate lift height for shallow wells.

Sealed motor for water protection.

Corrosion-resistant stainless steel or cast iron housing.

Important: For deep wells, we recommend switching to a dedicated deep well pump to ensure stable flow and efficiency.

2. Clean Rivers: Clear Water for Smooth Performance

When drawing water from a clean river with minimal sediment, QDX pumps offer reliable performance. However, if the river contains mud or sand, a WQD or V-series sewage pump is better suited.

What to Consider:

Water Clarity:

QDX pumps work best in clear or slightly murky water.

Solid Handling Capacity:

Minimal not ideal for handling large particles or sediment.
